CZARDAS DUO
Ian Watson and Matthew Forbes formed the Czardas Duo in 1998 when they were students at the Royal Academy of Music. Concert venues have included the
Fitzwilliam
Museum
in
Cambridge
, the Greenbelt Arts Festival in
Cheltenham
and Southwark Cathedral. As well as giving recitals, they have been guest performers and adjudicators for the Kells Music Festival in
Ireland.
They appeared at the first London Accordion Festival at Wembley Arena in November 2002. In the 2000/01 season they were Featured Artists of the Countess of Munster Musical Trust Recital Scheme, and since 2003 they have been on the Making Music Young Artist scheme. They are kindly sponsored by Accordion World magazine. As well as performing contemporary repertoire, they have created many of their arrangements. Composers who have written for the Czardas Duo include David Gorton (winner of the Royal Philharmonic Composition Award), Thomas Gold and John Webb.
